The Stanford Center for Artificial Intelligence in Medicine and Imaging offers a valuable 2-week virtual internship for those eager to delve into AI's technical and clinical applications in healthcare. This program features a blend of lectures on AI healthcare basics, practical research projects, and mentoring from Stanford researchers. Participants can also pursue an extended independent research internship if desired. In addition to the standard internship role, applicants have the option to apply for the 'Student Lead' position, which includes taking on project leadership duties alongside an AIMI mentor.

Interns will participate in various activities, including introductory AI lectures, technical sessions, mentoring with Stanford Student Leads and researchers, group research collaborations, social events, and "Career Lunch and Learns" with guest speakers from academia, industry, non-profit organizations, and government sectors. *Applications open January 2025.

Responsibilities

During this two-week virtual program, we aim to spark interest and empower the next generation of AI pioneers in medicine.

Job Requirements

Location: Virtual

Dates: TBD. Summer 2025

Cost: No cost

Eligibility: Must be high school students over the age of 14 by the start of the program (entering 9th grade through 12th grade in Fall 2024). Student leads must be California residents. Student interns must reside in the U.S. Student leads must also be students over the age of 14 and may also be undergraduate students with a computer science background.
